About YS PRO

What is YS PRO ?

YS PRO combines a boat security system, Wi-Fi hotspot, digital switching technology and big data analytics. YS Pro can collect any data from Ethernet, Modbus, NMEA2000, J1939 and 2 other CAN buses. An internal relay allows users to remotely turn on NMEA 2000 or other CAN buses for a short period of time, even when they are turned off, to collect data and update the app.

Internal alarms include geofencing, battery, tilt, temperature and G-shock alarms. Each alert received includes boat name, date and map where they occurred.

YS Pro includes a high-end touch screen for ease of use and setup. It is super easy to enter a code to arm/disarm the system or check its status (armed/disarmed/pairing mode), connections (4G, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee), names/types of sensors paired, sensors battery level or to simply scan a QR code to connect to Wi-Fi.

A large variety of wireless sensors can easily be paired to YS Pro. These sensors are then automatically added to the end-user app, which auto-scale based on the number of sensors paired and the type of data received.

Who is it for?

YS PRO can be installed on any boat or any size. It is aimed at all boat users, shipyards and boat rental companies wishing to benefit from an innovative technology on board. YS PRO has been designed to meet the needs of individual boat owners or professionals, including marina operators, boat rental/charter companies. Its price, ease of installation, power consumption

(<0.3W) and multiple functions make it attractive to any boat owner, sail or power.

What are the communication costs?

What data does YS Pro collect and send?

YS PRO only sends data when it has a 3G/4G signal. All data can be recorded for months and sent later if it is out of range. YS Pro collect 5 types of data:

1/ Internal YS Pro data

It includes internal alarms (geofencing, battery, tilt, temperature and G-shock alarms), 3G/4G & GPS signal strength and Wi-Fi statistics and settings. These data are collected and sent 24/7.

2/ Data from power cable and voltage detector cable(s)

YS Pro power cable can monitor the voltage of up to 3 batteries. Alarms can be configured if the voltage in any of these 3 batteries drop below a pre-set level. Each voltage detector cable can detect if the electric appliance it is wired to (typically bilge pump, water maker, generator or engine) is in use or not. Statistics about past usage is then shown on the app and can be used for maintenance purposes. These data are collected and sent 24/7.

3/ Data from optional wireless sensors

Any triggers from a sensor would result in an alarm being sent by YS Pro to the app (and the Partner Platform if applicable). YS Pro also collects the Zigbee signal strength and the battery level of each sensor multiple times per day. These data are collected and sent 24/7.

4/ Data from NMEA 2000 or other CAN bus

If connected to a CAN bus (NMEA 2000, CANOPEN, J1939), YS Pro collects any data from the bus when the bus is turned on. It includes:

– Engine data

– Battery data

– Temperature and humidity data

– Fluid levels data

– GPS coordinates, heading, ground & water speeds

– Wind force & direction, water depth

If the bus is turned off and YS Pro relay is connected to the NMEA network, users can click on the “update” button on the app, which will automatically turn on the CAN bus for a few minutes, collect the data and turn the CAN bus off.

5/ Video footage from Sentinel Cam 2

If a sim card is inserted in YS Pro, YS Pro can act as a Wi-Fi router and send a short video to the app if Sentinel Cam 2 detects an intrusion.

How is YS Pro powered?

YS PRO can be connected to 12V, 24V or even 48V. In case YS Pro is disconnected from the main battery, its internal battery lasts 24 to 48h.

YS PRO can monitor two separate battery banks and remotely turn on/off the NMEA 2000 network via its internal relay.

The power cable is equipped with 5 smaller cables: black / red / white / green / yellow. YS PRO requires it to be connected to your main battery, the others configurations are optional. (See user manual for set-up)

Required: Connect to main battery

Plug the black and the red cable to your main battery as the power diagram. YS PRO will keep a consumption under 0,3W in low consumption mode and will have a permanent monitoring of the battery.

Optional: Monitor a second battery

The white cable will allow you to monitor a second battery. No additional power consumption will be drawn. If a second battery isn’t monitored we recommend you to cut this wire short and cover it with electrical tape.

Optional: NMEA 2000 Relay

By plugging the green and yellow cable to the NMEA 2000 relay, you will be able to remotely turn on the NMEA 2000 for a few minutes when away to update the app. If you don’t use the relay, we recommend you cut the wires short and cover them with electrical tape.

Can I monitor multiple boats under the same account?

YS Pro and YS Pro app were specifically designed to easily monitor multiple boats at the same time, under a single account. Boats can easily be added or deleted by clicking on the top left menu > Settings > Boats.

What is included in the box?

YS Pro is composed of:

How do I arm/disarm alarms before entering/after leaving my boat?

What is the difference between "Master code" and "user code"?

Security

How secure is YS PRO?

We put a lot of effort into making YS PRO as secure as possible. All information sent or received from the central unit and the sensors is encrypted. All information sent to our server will be rejected if it is not in a specific format. If the central unit is disconnected for any reason, its internal battery can last for approx. 24 hours and a disconnect alert will be sent. The presence of all sensors is constantly checked by the central unit and an alert will be sent if the central unit stops receiving the ‘heartbeat’ of any sensor.

How can I make sure any changes made on the app are effective?

Any changes made on any apps will be promptly followed by a short message to confirm the change was effective. A green pop-up window means the change was successful, a red one means that the change was not successful. You can also check the log of all the past requests in the notification section.

Who can access information about my boat(s)?

You can easily manage who can access your boat information in the “Shared Users” section. You can grant access to as many people as you want and choose for each of them if you grant them full access or only a view. Each person added will receive the same alerts as you.

How long is my temporary password valid?

The temporary password is valid for a period of time that can vary according to your criteria.

You can choose between validity periods of : 1 day / 1 week / 1 month.
